OUR STORY
While working as a firefighter for the state of California and then as a volunteer for seven years I discovered my passion for serving the community and protecting people’s livelihoods. I felt like I was called to protect life and property from the threat of fire. In 2017 I felt helpless to the ravaging power of a fire that burned thousands of homes in my home town - including those belonging to members of my own family.
I felt called to do something to prevent this from happening again. But no firefighter, no matter how driven, can save thousands of homes single handedly. Eventually I created the Covered device to save homes from being lost to wildfire, protect lives, and reduce the harm that fire places on the environment.

WHAT IS COVERED?
Covered is an exterior fire suppression system that is designed to protect homes from igniting due to burning embers landing on roofs.

This is different from interior fire suppression systems that are designed to save lives once a fire ignites in a home. Covered wants to stop that fire from ever happening. According to the National Fire and Aviation Management System “97,196 homes were destroyed by wildfires between 2005-2022 (avg. of 5,717 homes a year) and the Institute for Business and Home Safety has found that burning embers cause 90% of structure loss in a wildfire.

In saving homes from Wildfire, Covered protects the environment from the pollutants and carbon that are released into the atmosphere and water sources during a fire. In addition to saving the environment, Covered is also designed to save homeowners thousands of dollars in insurance costs. According to The Home Fire Safety Commission: “Fire systems can save homeowners 35% on their insurance, resulting in over $500 of savings a year.” Covered also works with insurance companies in areas where homeowners are unable to obtain fire insurance to help remedy that situation.
HOW IT WORKS
The covered device can be activated from anywhere at anytime in the event of a fire near your home. Keep your roof wet so when burning embers do land on your roof they are extinguished within seconds.
